What is this?

A complete record of every Major Order issued in Helldivers 2 since launch (Feb 2024 to present) — 153 operations logged with outcomes, factions, and in-game briefing text where available.

The goal is a single reference for the full arc of the Second Galactic War: wins, losses, close calls, and story milestones.


Primary Data Sources

Order list — sourced from the human-verified Google Sheet maintained by Reddit user u/Sad-Needleworker-590, who tracks every operation manually as the game progresses. This is the canonical source for operation names, faction assignments, and outcomes.

helldivers2.dev API — a community-run REST API at api.helldivers2.dev (docs) that provides machine-readable game data. This dashboard uses it for three things: the dispatch archive (in-game briefing messages, available from March 2024 onward), planet data (positions, sector names, faction ownership for the galaxy map), and live assignment data (current active order type and expiration).


What counts as a Major Order?

Only Major Orders — the primary war objectives issued by High Command — are listed here. This includes multi-phase operations (e.g. Operation Swift Disassembly, Operation Valid Pretext) where each phase is counted separately, matching community convention.

Strategic Opportunities and Minor Orders (secondary side objectives) are tracked separately in the source spreadsheet but are not included in this table.


Dates

All dates are real-world dates, not in-universe dates. The in-game calendar runs ~160 years ahead (Year 2184 = 2024, 2185 = 2025, 2186 = 2026).

Exact dates come from dispatch API timestamps where available. Early Feb–Mar 2024 orders predate the API archive and use approximate month-level dates.


Results & Win Rate

Each Major Order has one of four outcomes:

  • Victory — Helldivers completed the objective within the time limit.
  • Defeat — The order expired or failed before the objective was met.
  • Partial — The order was cancelled or aborted by High Command before a clear outcome. Only 2 such orders exist in the record. These count as half a win in the formula below.
  • Ongoing — The order is currently active and is excluded from all win rate calculations until it resolves.

Win rate matches the community spreadsheet formula:

(Victories + 0.5 × Partial) ÷ Concluded

The win rate in the header always reflects the full historical record regardless of any active filters.


Order Types

Each Major Order has an objective type defined by the game's API. The Type column in the table uses these values, sourced from the /api/v1/assignments endpoint for the current active order. Historical orders are being tagged retroactively.

Human & AI involvement

This project is a collaboration between human curation and AI-assisted development. Here is what each contributed:

All 153 Major Orders, outcomes, and faction data are sourced from u/Sad-Needleworker-590's spreadsheet — manually tracked in real time by a community member.
Live API data Machine
Briefing text, exact dates, planet positions, faction ownership, and current order type are fetched live from the community-run helldivers2.dev API.
Order type tagging AI-assisted
148 of 153 orders were tagged with objective type (Eradicate / Liberate / Defend / Control) by running keyword analysis on briefing and note text using Claude. 5 orders predate the dispatch archive and remain untagged.
Dashboard AI-assisted
The UI, filters, map, and all code were built with Claude Code (Anthropic). No frameworks, no build step — one HTML file.

The underlying data is entirely human-sourced and community-maintained. AI was used to build the interface and assist with data processing — not to generate or invent any game facts.

The community spreadsheet is the canonical record — every order is manually tracked and verified in real time by u/Sad-Needleworker-590. The helldivers2.dev API provides machine-readable data for live orders, planet positions, faction ownership, and an archive of in-game dispatch messages (available from dispatch ID 2797, March 13 2024 onward). Orders before that date have no dispatch archive.
